It stands among the ffinest cars in automotive history. A true classic, the Duesenberg Model J exuded elegance, refinement and power. Introduced in 1928 at the New York Automobile Salon, the "Duesy" Model J quickly became recognized as the pinnacle of American automobiling. The Model J was big, fast, gorgeous and expensive. The 8-cylinder, 265 horsepower engine was appropriate to power a chassis with a 142½" wheelbase (increased to 153½" by its final year in 1937). The luxurious length of the chassis was a coach builder's dream and several of the Model Js were fitted with special customized bodies.
